Safety Management Plan

Purpose

The Safety Management Plan provides a statement as how and when the Safety requirements are to be achieved by defining major deliverables, activities and resources necessary to complete the Project.

The Safety Management Plan will be used as a basis for the management and control of the safety activities on the Project.  It will identify the controls and reporting mechanisms.

This plan will be used to monitor and report on the safety activities progress and performance.

The Safety Management Plan is to ensure and provide sufficient assurance that the Project will be implemented in accordance with Safety Management Policies and Procedures.

Derivation and Source Requirements

The Safety Plans will be derived from the Project Management Plans

Composition

The compositions for the Project’s Safety Management Plans for each Phase of the Project are defined by the project management plan.

Quality Criteria

Are all the safety activities completely and unambiguously defined?

Do the Project’s Safety Management Plan’s support and align with Safety Management Policies and Procedures

Do the Project’s Safety Management Plan’s support and align with the Project’s Management Plans?

Are the Safety Deliverables defined to a sufficient level?

Are the sources of assurance defined and credible?

Have the Work Packages been agreed to complete the Safety Deliverables?

Quality Method and Skills

The Safety Management Plans will be developed by the Project’s Safety Team and reviewed by the Project Management Team and if necessary internal Safety and Quality associates.
